You've always had the power to go back to Kansas

What is coaching and why do you need it?

I love to give advice. It's one of the reasons I decided to become a career coach.

So imagine my shock when I began my formal training as a coach and found out that coaching is NOT about giving advice!

Wait....what? You mean I'm supposed to hold back my opinions. My advice. My expertise! What's left without that?!

The answer reminds me of The Wizard of Oz. At the end of the movie after the hot air balloon with the Wizard takes off, The Good Witch Glinda tells Dorothy "you've always had the power to go back to Kansas."

You have the power and inner resources to get where you want to go.

So what's the point? If you have all the answers within you, what do you need a coach for?

Well...

You need to determine the destination you truly want to go to. If you knew where you wanted to go, you'd be there already. You need to draw a map to get there. You're more likely to stay on track if you have a partner in the passenger seat to help guide you along the journey. It's also more fun to have company. If you think about it, how boring would The Wizard of Oz have been if Dorothy had no companions on the Yellow Brick Road?

As your coach I will ask you powerful questions, provide the space for you to discover your own creative solutions, and hold you accountable for the goals you set out for yourself.

If you feel stuck on your path let's talk. Get in touch for a complimentary consultation.
