About Lauren

Hey!

I'M LAUREN, YOUR WaYFINDING Coach, Guide and Companion.

I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up.

When I graduated university with an Arts Degree, I got my first job - working for my mother. The choice was simple: she paid me cash, I didn’t have to wear a suit and I had no clue what else to do. All valid reasons if you ask me.

Later, when I realized not knowing what to make of myself was becoming a recurring theme of my career, I started seeking out resources to help me make confident choices every time I was at a career crossroads. I read books, hired coaches, took courses, and spoke with experts.

Little did I know, I was amassing a treasure chest of ways to help others facing a similar predicament.

Before becoming a coach, I spent a decade in executive search. It was here, that I got really good at answering strategic and tactical career questions. How to interview well. Craft a resume. Build a LinkedIn profile. Advocate for yourself in a negotiation.

Supporting people through pivotal career choices became my passion.

Today, as a coach, that same passion translates into helping my clients as they explore both strategic and deep, essential questions about their careers and themselves. Questions like:

  • How do I make choices I feel confident about?

  • How do I find meaning and engagement in my work?

  • How can I show up as my best self every day?

  • How can I best motivate the people who work for me?

  • How do I want to lead?

I believe that both strategic and essential questions should guide you in your work. They inform where you are, where you want to go and how you want to get there.

Asking these questions and transforming the answers into actions is the core of The Wayfinding Method.

My goal is to help you find your own route to work/life satisfaction.

Also I have a confession to make: I’m not a workaholic.

Yes, I love my work. However, I also believe it’s just one aspect of a fulfilling life.

  • I spend my leisure time cooking, being in nature, and playing Mahjong with good friends. I live in Toronto with my husband and two young children.

  • The pursuit of meaning has always been fascinating to me. At McGill University, I studied how people create meaning through culture and religion.

  • Once upon a time, I bicycled across Canada to inform and inspire others to take action on climate change.

  • At the end of each summer I preserve tomatoes with my sister. We like to pretend we’re Italian.

I am a Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation, Applied Positive Psychology Practitioner and Designing Your Life Coach.
